Peggy Collins is an award-winning author and illustrator of books for young people and a professor of Animation and Game Development at Loyalist College. With a vibrant and heartfelt visual style, her work brings stories to life for readers of all ages. She is the creator of numerous picture books, including Harley the Hero—a Blue Spruce Forest of Reading Award winner—and A Sky-Blue Bench, which received an American Library Association (ALA) award and widespread critical acclaim for its powerful message of resilience and hope.

An advocate for inclusive storytelling, Peggy’s work often explores themes of connection, belonging, and care for both people and the environment. In addition to her creative practice, she is a dedicated educator who mentors emerging artists, helping them build strong portfolios and professional practices.

Peggy regularly partners with museums, schools, and libraries across Canada to lead workshops and community-based art projects. When she’s not drawing or teaching, she can be found exploring the outdoors, experimenting in her kitchen, or dreaming up new ways to make art and stories more accessible to everyone.
